Welcome to St. Luke's:
Thank you for making the time
to checkout our website. It is my firm belief that all of us long for, and need a living
relationship with God.
This site is "under construction" all the time as we seek ways to make the Lord known, and
to assist people in their "under construction" spiritual journey.
We are seeking to give you a snap shot of Whose we are at St. Luke's and how we go about proclaiming
God's Good News in Jesus Christ, to His whole world. Our desire is that this site will present a fair
picture of who we are, what we profess to believe, and the kind of support you can expect to
find here.
We are believers in the Trinitarian God; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We assent to the
Apostles' and Nicene creeds. We are a sacramental church, that is, we believe in and celebrate the
real presence of Jesus Christ in Holy Communion each week. Through it, we remember Jesus' death for
us as we are renewed and equipped for His service.
We believe that the books of the Old and New Testament are the inspired word of God, the source of
all that we need to know for our lives and our salvation. We believe God has graced us in a
special way through Baptism, and we gather each week to give thanks and praise for His redeeming
work in our lives.
As a newly planted church, we strive to be a family, with all the diversity (including our warts
and blessings), and our hope in Christian love and fellowship as modeled by Jesus. We are senior
citizens, thirty somethings, moms and dads, high school students and young children. We work in
industry, in business and in various professions and ministries. We find a common cause to
celebrate in our risen Lord, Jesus Christ.
At St. Luke's, you will hear Scripture centered messages that are designed to be relevant today to
your life, your family, our local area, and to our world. As Saint Paul said, "So faith
comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ"
(Romans 10:17). Therefore, I strive to teach and preach only that which comes from and agrees
with God's Holy Word.
As the pastor of this place, I extend to you a personal invitation to be our guest for worship. It
does not matter where you are in your faith journey or your quest for the meaning of life or what
you wear. I want you to know you are welcome at St. Luke's.
For you see, our family understands that we are a place where we sinners are accepted and healed.
My prayer is that everyone who worships in this place may find God and be found by Him, see the face
of Jesus and be transformed by His grace. If you desire to give God room in your life, you have come
to the right place. I extend the hand of fellowship and invite you to join us as we strive to make
Jesus Lord in our lives and in this church.
I'm looking forward to meeting you, soon.
